BLINK & GO™ EYELASHES, NATIONWIDE Tested by Louise Emma Clarke What it promises: The people behind Nouveau Lashes have launched Blink & Go™ Eyelash Extensions – the faster, more affordable choice for those seeking fuller, more dramatic lashes. In just 20 minutes, eyes are transformed by thick, luscious lashes that will last around two weeks. The lashes are applied individually to suit your eye shape, with a vast choice of lengths and colours available. After two weeks, the company recommends that you re-visit the salon to have the lashes professionally removed. What happens: This isn’t the first time I’ve had eyelash extensions applied – but a half-hour appointment is certainly the shortest appointment I’ve been given when booking in, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect… I arrived at the swish Harley Street clinic – although this treatment is available nationwide – and was invited into the stylish, neutrally-decorated treatment room. My therapist quizzed me about the look I wanted to achieve and I explained that I wanted a glamorous look, without being too dramatic. In essence, I wanted my lashes to look natural, but also have the ‘wow factor’. She knew exactly what I meant, and after removing my eye-makeup, asked me hop up onto the ultra-comfortable bed. Unlike past extensions I’ve had applied, the therapist asked me to keep my eyes open and look down, rather than closing them – she explained that this made it easier to keep the eyelid taut and allowed her to see the shape the eye easier. Over the next 20 minutes, she applied the lashes individually, moving impressively quickly from one eye to the other. I was impressed with her technique - she had a row of lashes sat on her hand, with a pot of glue resting on her finger, and used tweezers to pick up each lash, dip it into the glue, and apply to the lashes. When she had finished, she passed me a mirror so I could inspect the results – and she had achieved exactly what I wanted, in the blink of an eye… The Results: My eyelashes were full, long, and incredibly glamorous – but they didn’t look fake or over-the-top. They felt light and natural too – unlike other extensions that left my lids feeling strangely heavy – and a week later, not a single lash has fallen out. The lashes might not be as dense as other extensions – like the look achieved by parent brand Nouveau Lashes – but the result is still very striking. For important occasions like my wedding later this year, I will still opt for the more expensive, fuller treatments – but for parties, holidays, and times when I need a confidence boost, I wouldn’t hesitate to book another appointment with Blink & Go™.
